Greg has operated his own Enterprises since 1982. He is a solid, professional sales person with a friendly, efficient staff that have been with him for many years. A true Entrepreneur, Greg has recently expanded his New Business, Doctor Screen mobile screen repair into a Nation-wide Distributorship Network. He correctly recognized the need for this service once reserved for the local hardware store. Those stores, are mostly gone now and Greg feels confident people need Doctor Screen to capture and fill the need left behind.
Greg will be at the forefront of a far reaching Distributorship network serving not only the Residential market but Commercial clients as well. By establishing relationships with large Property Management Companies, including well-known Home Improvement Retailers, Doctor Screen Distributors will benefit from this successful platform already in use by his other business interests for 15 years in the Canadian market.
BeTheBoss: What is the Doctor Screen franchise opportunity all about?
Greg Woolvett: We are a Mobile Window & Door Screen repair replacement service specializing in Residential & Commercial Screen repair & Replacement.
BTB: Who is your ideal candidate for a franchise?
GW: Our Ideal candidate is a recently downsized Manager or similar who is interested in a modest investment for a potentially large return . We want Entrepreneurial Distributors who want to grow their own business as opposed to buying a job with a Conglomerate Franchise. Our Distributor will have his own hours and he will be responsible for growing his territory. The business is also suited to the semi-retired or other seasonal business owners.
BTB: What type of training and support do you offer.
GW: We offer full training with a tour of the factory (if practical). We also include a decaled vehicle with initial inventory supply along with clothing, insurance etc. Support comes from our web site and Corporate Head Office negotiating National Accounts to benefit all Distributors.
BTB: What are some of the advantages in being a Distributor?
GW: Our Distributors return a modest fee to the Corporation from their gross sales. This fee is matched by Doctor Screen and the funds are used for National and Regional promotion and advertising. We also allow the uncomplicated sale of a Territory to someone of the Distributors choice with a brief interview of the potential buyer by Screen Doctor. Distributors have the opportunity to become members of the Doctor Screen Advertising & Policy Committee. They will help decide policy and advertising for all Distributors .
We do not dictate working hours or pricing. Your business is yours to run and develop and you can lock it up and set a work schedule to suit your lifestyle.
BTB: Are you a member of any Associations?
GW: We are in the process of joining a National Apartment Owners Association. We would expect Distributors to join similar Associations and develop relationships to promote their territory.
BTB: Tell us a little about the Home Improvement Industry?
GW: The demise of the local hardware store replaced by the big box retailers like Home Depot have left Consumers a very limited choice or ease of screen repair. That is where we fill the niche. In addition we work with the Home Depots of the world to become authorized Contractors to assist their clients with repairs . Similarly we work with Regional Apartment & Condo Associations to facilitate repairs for their tenants & owners
How successful is your company today and what are your future growth plans? We are a new Company with a simple Business Plan that we feel will grow very rapidly with a group of entrepreneurial investor/Distributors. Our platform is a copy of our Associated 15 year old Company’s successful implementation of a Distributor system.
BTB: What are your franchisees saying about the business?
GW: We expect very positive feedback when they are on board and to date response to the format have been very positive. Price affordably and not forcing the Distributor to work late nights, early mornings, weekends and Holidays appeal to perspective Distributors . What advice do you have for someone looking to acquire a Franchise? Buy yourself a business, not a job.
BTB: In your opinion, why do you think that Doctor Screen would be a great opportunity for someone?
